Dennis Stock, East of Eden (1955)
“In January 1955 Stock met the not-yet-famous James Dean at a party in Hollywood. Sensing a special quality in the actor, Stock accompanied him on a trip to Dean’s hometown in Indiana, and then on to New York City. Stock later spoke of the trip as a ‘memorable’ and ‘touching’ experience.” - Time Magazine
When you love someone, there is a light that goes off in your soul, a sparkle in your eye, a feeling that was never there, as if your whole being is consumed with the every breath and every beat of their heart. You are no longer yourself, You begin to lose yourself in all its perfection, you begin to let go of all misconceptions of life and fate and perfection, You see, it comes when you would least expect it, It comes when your not looking. Love crashes over you like a wave in the ocean, pulling you in, consuming you, completely covering every part of you, totally engrossed in every part of the person. If its true, your souls become connected, no matter for how long of a period that you have known the person, because for all eternity it was set in fate that you would meet and fall in love in every lifetime over and over and over again, and as each lifetime passed the next one would be more beautiful and complete and fulfilling and wonderful. That is what I have with you, I found my eternity, I found that light that goes off in my soul to know that you are my forever and you are my completion, I have loved you in every lifetime before and I will love you for every lifetime from now until eternity…

“Love is the strongest and most fragile thing we have in life Nothing is ever for sure, but when something in love doesn’t work from the beginning, it’s never going to work. Don’t push it… When you meet the love of your life, it’s just obvious and natural and easier. You keep learning all the time. Sometimes you could be in an unhappy relationship; you are very much in love with someone, but it’s making you unhappy and you think things can change and you can work it out…”

This is a picture of the Sparkling Enope squid (also known as the flirefly squid) at Toyama Bay, Japan. They are about 15.24 cm (roughly 3 inches) and die after only a year of life. Found in the Western Pacific ocean, it lives at depths of 183-366 meters and only comes up to the surface at night to show off its brilliant bioluminescence. Its photophores, the organs that produce the light, are loca
ted at the end of each tentacle.
Interesting face about the Sparkling Enope squid is they are only species of cephalopod that has evolved to be able to see color in three visual pigments. Scientists think that this is to help them distinguish between ambient light and their own bioluminescence. The firefly squid lights up for two reasons: the lights on the tentacle can flash to attract fish that the squid feed on and the squid can light up its entire body to attract a mate during the months of March to June.
